Thames Valley East Masaajid Council - Inter Masaajid Football Tournament
Over 250 hundred youngsters participate in the inaugural Inter-Mosque Football Tournament at Arbour Park Stadium Slough.
The TVMC Inter-Mosque Football Tournament, hosted at Slough Town Football club on 24th August was a community-driven initiative designed to promote physical fitness, social connection, and positive life choices among young people. The event gathered over 250 youngsters aged between 7-16 years from across the region for a day filled with friendly competition, team spirit, and valuable life lessons.
The tournament offered an exciting opportunity for young people to engage in healthy physical activity, learn the importance of teamwork, and develop crucial life skills such as discipline, resilience, and leadership.
The tournament was supported by 11 local mosques who pooled together to organise a highly successful first event, just before schools reopen for the next academic year.
Tournament organiser, Haroon Iqbal, stated “We believe that sports have the power to change lives. Our goal was to use this tournament as a means to encourage young people to pursue positive activities, set goals, and stay committed to their personal growth. By giving them the tools and support they need, we aim to help them make choices that lead to a successful and fulfilling life”
